about

For PDR012 we are joined by Taro Records top boys, Syrette.

Hailing from the south of England, there's definitely nothing soft about their music. They were quoted as being 'futuristic mavericks hellbent on the destruction of your mind and soul'. While we can't attribute this quote directly to Syrette or anyone connected with them, given their previous output, individually and as Syrette, it seems fitting.

Kicking things off is Ante Meridiem. A dark, brooding track. It doesn't seem like there's a lot going on, but with each listen you'll hear something else. Something that will pull you back in again and again. This track just seems to grow and grow. Devastating stuff.

Next up is Demonstrate Value. A pounder of a track. It grinds and screeches through 5 minutes with little let up. In the correct hands this track will do damage.

The third track is Theory of Change. A broken beat track, loaded with sub heavy kicks and crisp percussion. This is another of those that you will find something different with each listen. A wonderful example of how creative techno can be without being overly complicated.

Closing the release is Necessary Illusions. From the 4 this is the most dance floor friendly. It pounds along nicely, breaking off to come straight back in again. This track will be played over and over by djs, make no mistake.
